Like all of us, I am a mix of things. However, most important to my work as a counsellor and psychotherapist I am warm, genuine, down to earth, empathetic, supportive, and practical.
I have been through quite a lot in my life, and at various points therapy has been invaluable to me personally. In fact, this is a big part of what led me to become a therapist myself. I experienced first-hand the significant impact therapy can have and that inspired me to want to help others in a similar way.
Beyond that though, I have always had a deep interest in psychology, and I wanted to do something that contributes to helping others. For many years I was not sure exactly what that was, but I feel like I found what I was destined to do when I became a counsellor and psychotherapist. I feel privileged to work with each of my clients - being alongside them, helping them to examine their psychological and emotional worlds, and supporting them in working through the issues that bring them to see me. It is incredibly satisfying and rewarding.
I am a highly qualified integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, and I am committed to ongoing training and professional development.

Before I became a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked for over 14 years in the UK and in Australia, as a qualitative research consultant specialising in brand, advertising, and strategy development. Qualitative research is all about understanding people’s behaviour and motivations, so even my work back then had an element of psychology to it.
During that time, I worked closely with advertising agencies, marketing companies and senior management in consumer organizations and government departments. I worked long hours, with lots of travelling and intense deadlines, and for a number of years I had my own company. As a result, I can understand and appreciate the high stress, high pressure jobs that many people in the business, creative and corporate worlds are faced with, and how this can impact on their lives more broadly.
Furthermore, the qualitative research I undertook saw me engaging with people of all ages and from all walks of life which I really enjoyed. Just like with my work as a therapist, central to what I did, was people.
