Where do I work?
I used to work in Central London, with offices in Mayfair and Oxford Circus. Since the Covid pandemic, as more people began working from home, I now primarily offer sessions online via Zoom or Teams. This allows me to work with clients based anywhere in the UK, from the comfort of their own space.
When do I work?
I offer sessions Monday to Friday, with availability during the day and early evening. Once we agree to work together, you’ll be offered a dedicated weekly slot - the same day and time each week - held just for you.
How long is a therapy session?
Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually held once a week. Occasionally, I may arrange to see clients more often if needed, depending on what feels most supportive.
What do I charge?
Sessions are £85, payable by bank transfer ahead of each session. If you prefer, you’re welcome to pay for a block of sessions in advance.
What happens in the first session?
The initial session is a bit like an assessment. I’ll gather some basic information and invite you to share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll also explain how I work and answer any questions you might have. The aim is to help you decide whether you feel comfortable with me and whether you’d like to go ahead with therapy.
How long will therapy take?
This is a common question, and one that’s difficult to answer until we begin working together. Some clients come with issues that feel more straightforward and may benefit from short-term therapy - sometimes as few as 12 sessions. Others may be navigating more complex experiences that take time to explore and process.
That said, I usually get a sense within the first few sessions of whether our work is likely to be short or longer term, and I’ll share that with you. We’ll also review our work together regularly, so you can reflect on how things are going and whether therapy continues to feel supportive.
What happens if you miss a session?
Clients pay for a weekly slot for the duration of our work together. This ensures your slot is always reserved for you. With advance notice, I may be able to rearrange a session if you're going to be away - though this isn’t always possible, especially when my schedule is full.
What happens when I am away?
I tend to take around eight weeks off across the year, including time over Christmas and New Year. I’ll always give you plenty of notice before any planned breaks - unless it’s an emergency. You won’t need to pay for your weekly slot while I’m away.
What about confidentiality?
Everything you share with me in therapy is treated as strictly confidential. There are a few specific exceptions to this, as outlined in the BACP Ethical Framework, which I follow. We can talk through these when we meet, or you can find more information on the BACP website.
As part of my professional practice, I also undertake regular clinical supervision with a registered counselling and psychotherapy supervisor. I may discuss aspects of our work together, but I never share any identifying details - your anonymity is always protected.
Am I a registered member of any professional counselling or psychotherapy bodies?
Yes, I’m a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), one of the main professional bodies for therapy in the UK. Membership requires a high level of training, a commitment to ongoing professional development, and adherence to a strict code of ethics.
I’m also fully insured with Howdens, a specialist insurer for counselling and psychotherapy professionals.
How can you make an appointment?
There are a few ways you can get in touch to arrange an appointment:
If you have any questions before booking, please feel free to reach out. I’ll aim to respond within 24 hours.
What is my privacy policy?
As a BACP-registered counsellor and psychotherapist, I handle all personal information in line with UK GDPR. I’m also registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office), as required for data protection compliance.
When you contact me via this website, I’ll collect your name, contact details, and any other information you choose to share. If we begin working together, I’ll also hold confidential session notes and relevant personal details to support our therapeutic work. Client records are kept for a minimum of seven years after therapy ends, in line with professional and legal guidance.
